The Town of Yorktown, Indiana

A Great Place to Call Home

Trails & Sidewalks

In September 2016, Yorktown was awarded the Voice of the People Award for Excellence in Mobility at the International City/County Managers Association Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. As residents continue to express a desire for greater bicycle and walking connectivity, we will continue to expand upon our award-winning trail network.

Several trail extensions are planned for 2017 and beyond, including an extension from CR 500W to Nebo Rd along River Rd. This extension will allow for connectivity from CR 600W all the way to Morrison Rd. We invite you to view this Future Trails & Sidewalks Map to see proposed extensions from 2017-2021.

To help make your own contribution to the Yorktown trail network, we invite you to participate in the annual Four for the Fourth 4-mile run/walk. The race begins in Downtown Yorktown before going alongside Yorktown Schools and the Yorktown Sports Complex and finally ending in Morrow's Meadow. This event takes place each year on the morning of July 4th. Proceeds from the event go towards funding trail extensions throughout Yorktown. To learn more, please visit or follow Four for the Fourth on Facebook.
